CAMPUS PLANNING, DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
The Office of Campus Planning, Design, and Construction manages the space programming, planning, design, preparation of construction and contract documents, and construction administration for the major maintenance, alterations, and new construction for all University facilities and building systems. The Office is also responsible for the Capital Project Planning process, the Capital Projects Fund, and liaison with governmental and land development agencies.
ENERGY SYSTEMS & SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT (ESSM)
The Energy Systems & Sustainability Management department is focused on helping Syracuse University use resources more effectively. From automated energy and building systems, steam and chilled water production, and energy conservation to campus sustainability programs, we work throughout the entire University community to efficiently create and maintain comfortable, sustainable and high performance campus environments.
FIXit is responsible for all maintenance and housekeeping in the residence units and dining centers. Janitors and general maintenance staff work in all residence halls every day, seven days a week. Twenty-four-hour emergency service is also provided. The Housekeeping staff is supported by a trades staff of electricians, plumbers, and carpenters. Our skilled professionals work together to repair problems and assure your living conditions are clean, comfortable, and safe.
Mail Services is responsible for gathering, sorting, and delivering all interdepartmental “campus mail” and mail received from the United States Postal Service (USPS). Mail for the USPS is also gathered and the necessary postage affixed for processing for 1st class letters and flats, packages, express mail, registered, certified, insured, and international mail. Other services provided are special incoming package handling, packaging services, special deliveries/pickups, and Mail Piece Design for Business Reply and Courtesy Reply. Mail Services also offers automated mail inserting machine services and labeling.
Physical Plant is responsible for maintenance to academic, administrative, athletic facilities and fields, grounds, and landscaping. There is also a Construction Division that works on small to medium projects.
